The village of Portpatrick is located in southwest Scotland on the Mull of Galloway. The village is the closest point between Scotland and Ireland and was for many years the main mail and passenger link between the two countries. Since the nineteenth century Portpatrick has developed as an extremely popular holiday resort.


The village boasts many superb first class seafood restaurants specialising in fresh local produce, Knockinaam Lodge, which has a Michelin Star ,is only a short drive. The village is not just a haven of good food, it is blessed with unusually warm weather and local gardens make the most of the balmy climate.


In addition to good food and wine, the area offers many activities including golf, fishing, shooting, cycling, walking and bird watching just to name a few. For the kids and other budding fun golfers, the village has its own 18 hole putting green which is a fun for all.


For days out there are a number of superb beaches within a short drive and village has its own beach which is less than a minutes walk from the house. Whilst the village has much to offer, further afield there are many things to do including cycling, walks, stunning beaches, additional golf courses, trips to Ireland, etc.
